What does dance have to do with altered states of consciousness?

The human body is the vehicle for expressing ourselves in this world, used in a spontaneous way it can induce a flow state, free us of our overthinking mind, and expand our state of consciousness. Matan Levkowich, founder of the Movement Lab, will join us on November 18th to explore the potential of dance and bodily awareness as a gateway to another state of being, where body and mind are unified and whole.

This evening will begin with a dance performance to give us a taste of what expressive movement is all about, followed by a more cognitive perspective, as Matan will be holding a presentation, weaving together the connection between contemporary dance and changes in the perception of reality. To close we will get the opportunity to participate in a (optional) guided dance experience and embody the exploration of the previously shared concepts on a physical level. Once the cycle closes, our space will remain open for you to stay, make yourselves at home, enjoy some tee and snacks, and connect to like-minded people.

We are looking forward to immersing ourselves in the world of movement and flow.

//About Matan Levkowich is a dancer & movement researcher, graphic designer and the host of the ‘Material For The Brain’ podcast. In 2015 he founded Movement Lab – a vehicle for movement education (https://movementlab.eu), choreographic work and discursive inquiry. His practice is influenced by his enthusiasm for physical and theoretical research and revolves around developing a meaningful relationship with the body-mind.
